Overnight stays
At To The Rescue, we provide a home away from home suitable for small, elderly, or low/moderate energy dogs, ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for alongside our own pups. Any puppy or dog who can be safely integrated into the household is welcome to join our pack.
For dogs with crazy, youthful energy, we offer an insulated and heated clubhouse with fenced yard where they can play together. It adjoins the house so that their interactions can be observed, and allows the option of being invited into the house when they are calm.
Fearful and reactive dogs can be accommodated as well; we offer separate spaces with human visits several times a day for meals, exercise and training as required.
Regardless of which option suits your dog, he or she receives daily individual attention. This could include a walk on the Cowichan Trail system behind our property, a sedate leash walk in the cemetery across the street, scent detection training, a bike ride, a game of ball, or training sessions to work on a specific skill.
Petsitting
At To The Rescue, we offer compassionate in-home care for all types of pets, from gerbils to horses, ensuring they receive the attention they need while remaining in familiar surroundings. We can also provides plant care and care for livestock, so your entire household stays healthy while you're away.

Our training sessions are tailored to your dog's individual needs and energy levels, providing a fun and effective learning experience.
At To The Rescue, we believe that every dog deserves a positive training experience, whether they are a playful puppy, a shut down rescue dog, or a mature companion facing behavioural challenges. Trainer Shane Windatt, graduate of San Francisco SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers, uses positive reinforcement methods to ensure that your dog enjoys the learning process while developing essential skills.

We believe that every dog is unique, and their care should reflect that. Owners can choose from a variety of activities, including invigorating bike rides and scenic trail walks for active dogs, or gentle cuddle sessions and relaxed cemetery strolls for those with a calmer demeanor. We also offer fun training sessions tailored to your dog's energy level.
